Cologne Christmas Markets
Cologne is one of the German cities known for its several Christmas markets, which are part of the Kölner Weihnachtsmärkte. Several squares transform into the most beautiful markets yearly, with various food, drink, and decoration stands. Some markets provide entertaining activities such as ice skating rings or other winter games. On this walk, you'll see holiday decorations and handmade crafts while warming up with hot Gluhwein (Mulled Wine) and flavorful food at the stands. Cologne am Neumarkt – the Neumarkt is in the center of Cologne. The well-known shopping streets Schildergasse, Mittelstraße and Ehrenstraße are in the immediate vicinity. Just in time for the Advent season, an atmospheric Christmas world opens with many special features.
The market offers a wide range of specialties, handicrafts and gifts. Its more than 100 market stalls are divided into different themed alleys and small squares that stretch across Alter Markt and Heumarkt.
Weihnachtsmarkt am Kölner Dom is Cologne's largest and most known Christmas market, right next to the impressive Cathedral with more than 4 million visitors annually.
