Religious Sites
The Et'hem Bey Mosque is a historic mosque in the heart of Tirana, Albania. Built in the late 18th century, the mosque is known for its beautiful frescoes and intricate wood carvings. During the communist period in Albania, the mosque was closed and used for various purposes, including as a cultural center and a cinema. However, after the fall of communism in 1991, the mosque was restored and returned to its original purpose as a place of worship. Today, the Et'hem Bey Mosque is a popular tourist destination and an important symbol of religious freedom in Albania. It is also one of the country's few surviving examples of Ottoman architecture.
