Helsinki is a diverse city, the northernmost EU capital, and Finland's only metropolis. It was named a World Design Capital in 2012 and is consistently recognized as one of the world's most livable cities, with one of the highest living standards anywhere. Our walk starts at Helsinki's Cathedral and Senate Square, where you can enjoy the view of the beautiful Neo-Classical buildings that surround the area. Not far from there, we'll find Kauppatori square and the Old Market Hall. Both are ideal places to find an incredible selection of food and drinks and a great place to pick up a couple of gifts to take home. As we continue to the Ateneum Art Museum, which houses Finnish art from the 18th to the 20th centuries, we'll pass by Esplanadi Park, a popular walking area among the locals and a beautiful spot to have a picnic or enjoy some of the live performances that often took place at the park. Our next stop will be the Chapel of Silence, it is intended to be a place to relax and have a moment of silence in one of Finland's busiest areas. Finally, we reached our last spot for the day, the Temppeliaukio Rock Church. It was built into solid rock in 1969 and is an architectural wonder worth visiting.
