Monaco, the world's second-smallest state, is also one of its wealthiest. The latter is obvious in the historic buildings - famous casinos, opera houses, hotels, and opulent palaces - found in the central ward of Monte-Carlo, which display a wide variety of architectural styles for such a small country.
