We've all watched Notting Hill with Hugh Grant & Julia Roberts and imagined that we also walk around Portobello! We strongly recommend doing this walk on a Saturday. We start off this route from Notting Hill Gate station, which is the closest tube station to Portobello Road. We walk on Pembridge road and we take a left on Portobello Road where we will meet cute little colourful houses. Our first stop on Portobello Road is Alice's, the famous antique shop. Go into the store and explore its treasures. Our next stop is the Electric Cinema, one of the oldest working film theatres in London. We then walk past all the street antique sellers and the food stalls, reaching The Notting Hill Bookshop, which is the one Hugh Grant met Julia Roberts in the movie. The Portobello Road Market is located under the train bridge, though you are going to sort of be walking it since you entered Portobello Road. The main difference is that here you will see more food stalls, compared to the antique stalls on Portobello Road. We suggest finishing your walk in Osteria Basilico for a great Italian lunch and wine outdoors on Kensington Park Road. There are other options on that street too, with both Osteria Napoletana and Haya being also great options for lunch or just wine and cocktail. In case you had tried the street food along Portobello Road and you just want to enjoy a cocktail, you can visit the historic cocktail bar The Little Yellow Door.
