Located at the confluence of the rivers Savo and Danube, used to be a pole of attraction for various empires throughout the centuries. Therefore, lots of Belgrade's history, can be found in the various museums in the city. Starting our walk by getting known with Serbia's history, and Nicola Tesla's life and accomplishments, we continued our path to Serbia's history, only to stay astonished by the National Museum and the Military-War Museum of Serbia. Both opened for first time during the 18th Century, they contain not only ancient, but also modern items from different cultures and people who established in the area of Serbia through time. Finally, we ended our walk by visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art, a place where anyone can stand and relax by watching the multiple collection of paintings & graphics.

The museum was established in 1963 and today it preserves over 35,000 exhibits in its collection. Over the years the museum was located at different locations around the capital city of Belgrade. These include Roman swords and helmets, Greek helmets and daggers, Serbian heavy knight's armor, axes, shields, helmets, crossbows, armoured gloves, as well as Western medieval weapons. There are also more modern guns, firearms, and elements of soldier's uniforms and equipment. It was moved into the current building in the Ušće neighborhood of New Belgrade in 1965.
